The Interview

If you are a successful Vitesse candidate, you would eventually have an interview with a partner company. At the interview, you will have to demonstrate that you are the person to sponsor. Try practicing for the interview so that you feel more confident and be better prepared to answer the interviewer's questions.

Commonly Asked Questions

  • What can you tell me about yourself?
(Expand on the information in your resumé in a short and organized statement.)
  • Why are you interested in a career change?
(Be honest and positive about such a move. Show your enthusiasm about working in a high-tech company.)
  • What are your greatest accomplishments in your previous career?
(Think about the highest points of your current career. Achievers are highly regarded by our partner companies.)
  • What skills can you bring to your new career in the IT industry?
(Market yourself! Think about your personal skills. Could the company utilize any of the qualities that made your achievements possible?)
  • What are your goals in the new career, how do you see yourself after five years?
(Show that you have thought about your future in the IT industry in terms of better career opportunities, not just in terms of better financial prospects. Be reasonable in your expectations, not unrealistic.)
  • What in our company is of greatest interest to you?
(Make sure you have learned about the company so you can demonstrate your knowledge in what the company does and explain your interest in doing it.)
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?
(Be honest about your good qualities - without bragging - and don't dwell on your bad habits.)
  • Do you have any questions about the company?
(Think in advance of some questions to show your interest. These could cover any information about the company that you could not find in your own research.)

Don't be surprised if your interviewer takes notes during the interview. You should also bring a pen and paper so that you can take notes too.

  • Just before the interview, take several deep breaths and relax your muscles. This will help you relax physically and mentally. Be yourself - don't try too hard to impress the interviewer.

  • Show your energy and enthusiasm for the career in high-tech.

Interview DON'Ts

  • Don't come across as too shy or too aggressive.
  • Don't answer questions with merely "yes" or "no" responses - elaborate… sell yourself by giving concrete examples.
  • Don't say anything negative about other people or past employers.
  • Don't lie or exaggerate your abilities.
  • Don't be overly familiar with the interviewer.
  • Don't chew gum, interrupt or use slang during the interview - even if the interviewer does.
